Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before

Interactive Sound Installation

Satellite Art Fair, Miami 2014
Chashama Gala, NYC 2021

Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One is an interactive, continually evolving, mash-up soundscape installation/performance. Visitors to the installation are invited tell me the name of a song that evokes a strong memory for them and, if they like they may also sing a short section of the song . Remote performers record impromptu versions of the memory songs. The different versions of memory songs are live-mixed and added continuously to the soundscape throughout the performance. Participants also have the option of writing a short description of personal memory that is attached to this song for them. I, and/or the remote performers, read these memory texts into the soundscape.
